1982 Ventures Appoints Technology Executive James Kim as Operating Partner
1982 Ventures, the leading early-stage venture capital firm focused on fintech and tech infrastructure in Southeast Asia, has announced the appointment of James Kim as an Operating Partner based in Singapore. James is a Managing Director at Accenture and leads their Software & Platforms Industry Practice in the Growth Markets (including Asia Pacific and Latin America). He also serves as the portfolio leader for the Southeast Asia practice.
With over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, James Kim brings a wealth of expertise in digital transformation, strategy, and operations to the portfolio companies of 1982 Ventures. He will play a key role in supporting the firm's portfolio companies across various aspects, including go-to-market strategy, scaling operations, and building partnerships.

James Kim is a seasoned technology executive with over 20 years of experience in digital transformation, strategy, and operations. He currently serves as a Managing Director at Accenture in Singapore. In this role, he helps clients across various industries develop and implement digital strategies to drive growth and innovation. He is the founding leader for Accenture's Software & Platforms Industry practice in the Growth Markets (Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East, Latin America) overseeing Accenture’s strategy and business with leading internet and software companies, and led Accenture's Strategy and Consulting practice serving these clients.
Kim has served as a Managing Director at Google where he led their Asia Pacific Channel Partners business. He has held various leadership roles delivering thought leadership and solutions to Media and Telecommunications companies in New York, Melbourne, and Hong Kong.
His experience will help 1982 Ventures’ portfolio companies accelerate, scale, and improve their user base, digital experiences, and business performance, while mitigating risks and decoupling growth from cost.
